Posse Mine, Mara Rosa, Goiás, Central-West Region, Brazil

Gold deposit of probable epigenetic origin, hosted in felsic volcanic and sedimentary rocks. The low-grade ore occurs along late structures that post-date peak metamorphism of Neoproterozoic age. Most of the gold is intergrown with frohbergite.
