MAS/MIL number 20760086.
Location: This occurrence is at an elevation of about 5,000 feet, 0.5 mile north-northeast of VABM Watana. It is near the center of the NE1/4 sec. 36, T. 22 S., R. 2 W., Fairbanks Meridian. The location is accurate to within 1/2 mile.
Geology: This occurrence consists of bornite, covellite, and chalcopyrite in garnet-epidote-quartz skarn and hornfels (Kurtak and others, 1992). The skarn grades into marble that is part of a sequence of Triassic metabasalt, argillite, metachert, and marble (Csejtey and others, 1978). Selected samples of the mineralized skarn contain 3.5 parts per million silver, 0.2 parts per million gold, and up to 0.26 percent copper (Balen, 1990). As of January 1, 2000, a block of approximately 96 state mining claims covered this and adjacent prospects (Northern Associates Inc., written commun., 2001).
Workings: Limited sampling by U.S. Bureau of Mines (Balen, 1990). As of January 1, 2000, a block of approximately 96 state mining claims covered this and adjacent prospects (Northern Associates Inc., written commun., 2001).
Alteration: Silicification and development of garnet-epidote skarn.

Commodities (Major) - Cu; (Minor) - Ag, Au
Development Status: None
Deposit Model: Copper skarn (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 18b)
