South of the township of Kathé, the conspicuous hill of Daw-Nann-Kyi is situated. At the main gate a dirt road leads to Kyauk-pauk, Tagaung-nann-daing and Wun-be-inn gem mines where numerous gems are recovered from the alluvial gravels, situated along the river banks and in the tributaries. This general area has not been very productive and has only been worked sporadically by small mining MGE join venture companies. - Ted Themelis (2008) Gems and Mines of Mogok
