Old sulphur mine in the valley of River Naro, exploited since 1839.

The name Lucia is sometimes used to indicate the whole mining basin located south of Favara and east of Agrigento, including the mine groups Lucia-Luciella, Ciavolotta-Terreforti, Ortate, Falsirotta, and Borraitotto.
