Uranium mine.
A área mineira da Fontinha localiza-se na freguesia de Girabolhos do concelho de Seia, distrito da Guarda. A área envolvente ao jazigo está inserida no Planalto Beirão, numa zona moderadamente acidentada, com cotas a variar entre os 400 e 430 metros. Localmente, a mina situa-se em encosta de declive pouco acentuado para W, a cotas médias de 410 metros. Esta área encontra-se relativamente afastada de povoações, sendo que a sede de freguesia localiza-se a cerca de 1,5 km a Sul, Paranhos a 2 km para WSW e Lages a 3 km para Este. É uma área erma, rodeada por pinhal e mato, não existindo a jusante qualquer tipo de agricultura.

A exploração decorreu durante os anos 1989 a 1991. A exploração mineira foi efetuada a partir de uma corta a céu aberto com cerca de 120 m de comprimento, 40 m de largura e 30 m de profundidade. Cerca de 5.000 ton de minério pobre foram transportados para a mina da Quinta do Bispo. A mina produziu cerca de 26.841kg de U3O8, contidos em minérios com teor médio 0,09% de U3O8.
