A former Cu-Zn-Au-Ag mine located in the NE¼ sec. 9, and in the S½NW¼ sec. 10, T2N, R12E, MDM, 3.8 km (2.3 miles) E of Carmen City, at Pools Station, SE of Carmen Peak (5 miles N of Copperopolis). Acquired in 1900 by the Nassau Copper Company. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in slate and diorite. The ore body is lenticular in form at a thickness of 0.61 meters. Parallel, high-grade ore bodies occur in a narrow body of metadiabase. The footwall is slate and the hanging wall is diorite. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings inklude underground openings with a length of 789.43 meters and an overall depth of 131.06 meters and consist of a 430 foot vertical shaft with levels at 95 and 200 feet. Drifts extend N 200 and 240 feet and S 800 and 820 feet, on the upper and lower levels, respectively.

By 1908, $70,000 (period values) of Cu ore had been mined. Operated intermittently through 1919. No production reported.

Analytical data results: Averaged 0.2 ounce/ton Au; 4.6 ounces/ton Ag; 5.2% Cu; and, 17.9% Zn.
