A former lode Au-Pb-Ag-Cu occurrence/mine located in sec. 8, in the SW¼SW¼ sec. 9 & sec. 16, T12N, R8E, MDM, 0.3 km (0.2 mile) NE of Duncan Hill (coordinates of record (NE slope of the hill) and 1.6 km (1.0 mile) WNW of Auburn. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in amphibolite and diabase. The ore body strikes E and dips 62S at a thickness of 1.02 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings with a length of 212.14 meters and an overall depth of 54.86 meters and comprised of shafts & 7 drifts (??) (possibly 7 shafts and drifts).
Production data are found in: Logan, Clarence August (1921).
Past production was reported at over $60,000 (period values) from surface.
