North Port Mine


A large lead-zinc mine along Deep Creek. The ore occurred in redeposited breccia zones in dolomite of the Kootenay Arc. It was developed by a 850' deep incline shaft with workings on 8 levels. It produced around 850,000 tons of ore containing 15,182,000 lbs Pb, 65,621,000 lbs Zn, and 36,000 oz Ag.
