A group of Pb-Cu-Mo claims/prospect with underground openings located in the SE¼SW¼ sec. 3, T24S, R16E, ¼ mile W of the Belmont Mine; 1 mile SW of Washington Camp, on National Forest land. Owned by Capt. O'Connor.
Located just west of the contact of granodiorite and Colima Limestone of the Washington-Duquesne Limestone Belt, in the quartz monzonite, which is cut by masses of granite porphyry. They contain a large amount of mineral-bearing drusy quartz in veins and stringers that trend in all directions. The more prominent strike about east. Ore control was NW-trending fissure veins and smaller fissures in granodiorite. Ore concentration was secondary enrichment accompanying or following granitic intrusions. Tectonic elements include the Washington Camp Fault Block.
Mineral deposits of the Washington-Duquesne area occupy a limestone-sediment belt (2.5 miles long by 1.25 miles wide) surrounded by igneous rocks which also form detached masses and dikes within the belt.
Workings include several water-filled shafts.
