Name:
Russian geologist and mineralogist Dmitry Ivanovich Sokolov (1788 – 1 December 1852), Leningrad Mining Institute.
Unique combination of elements. A representative of natural Al oxyarsenates, as is true for alumoedtollite, nishanbaevite, urusovite, and wrightite.

Structurally related to shchurovskyite in terms of general topology. Anionic stochiometry identical to that of shchurovskyite. The quasi-framework consists of arsenate tetrahedra and Cu- and Al-centered polyhedra; K atoms are located in channels.
