Hello all.
My name is Paul Mestrom.
I am a chemical engineer, born in may 1950.
Until 2011 I worked as a chemistry teacher at high school (highest levels of 15-18 year old students).
I am married and have two children and five grandchildren..

I collect minerals for over 50 years, and have a collection of over 2450 different minerals in many more pieces. I have over 700 minerals from type locality. Most of my minerals are own findings or obtained by exchange/swapping with other collectors.

So far I did most of my field collecting in Germany (mainly in the volcanic Eifel-region and the Black Forest), Switzerland (mainly Binn-valley, e.g Lengenbach quarry and Wanni-Cherbadung-region), Italy (among others Pereta, Viterbo region and Vesuvius) and France, especially Montmins (Allier, Auvergne).

Most of my minerals are micro mounts and thumbnails, not because I do not like bigger ones, but it is hard to find them yourself. I prefer minerals with xls that can be seen well, as big as possible, as small as can be seen well when enlarged up to 30x under microscope.

If you are interested in swapping minerals, please mail me at pmestrom@home.nl and I will send you my list (unfortunately the list is not always up to date!).

If you have no minerals for exchange/swapping there also is the possibility to buy minerals from me for friendly collector-prices.
