Situated on the western side of the base of Eyre Peninsula, Coffin Bay is small township mostly regarded as a tourist destination.
Once connected with Port Lincoln by rail for the transfer of 'lime sands' from a local (BHP owned) quarry, it is now only accessible by road, after the railway was removed in 2001.
