Kråkesylvbakken, Evje og Hornnes, Agder, Norge

Kråkesylv, literally translated, means "crow's silver", a norwegian nickname for mica/muscovite. During a visit May 2022 the presence of a small quarry was confirmed, together with the presence of muscovite in the pegmatite, but nothing that would warrant calling this small hill Kråkesylvbakken.
The quarry is barely visible at an aerial picture of 1972 at kart.1881.no, suggesting a longer period of inactivity.
The size of the quarry in relation to the size of the dumps suggest that a small quantity of feldspar actually has been mined.
The dominating feldspar is a light brown, seemingly very pure microcline.
In the corner of a small hand sample the presence of cleavelandite was observed, together with very pale amazonite. This sample was found at the top of the hill, not in the actual quarry! This observation makes this pegmatite worth further attention.
The quarry owner remains to be identified, and the locality is not yet allocated to a specific farm.
