Development: Listed As an active open pit mine and heap leach operation in 1983, employing 16 persons. In 1982, electra northwest resources combined with pacific northwest to form electra northwest resources, ltd. To develop its property, the aurora mine, over 200 claims.it was conducting drilling and engineering programs at that time. Plans were then being made for processing an initial 30000 tons. Electra had been exploring the property since 1980 or earlier. Electra northwest formed a joint venture with centennial minerals, and began production in july 1983 at 1000-1500 tpd. Initial recoveries averaged 0.08 oz/t Au from material grading 0.12 oz/ton au. Full scale production was planned for 1984. Mine life projected at least 5 years. Electra resources was drilling the property in 1980-1981, then merged with pacific northwest to form electra northwest res. Ltd. Nevada coldfields opened and adjacent aurora mine and in 1987, expected to produce 100--- oz Au and 150000 oz Ag in its 5 yr projected life.
