The Grace vein is mineralized chiefly with arsenopyrite and minor abounts of pyrrhotite, pyrite and chalcopyrite. The east-west vein is practically free of arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite and pyrite are the dominant sulphides. Native gold is visible in ore containing more than a half an ounce of gold per ton. Spectacular gold samples have come from the Grace vein. A mill run of 52 tons of ore taken in 1901 from the Grace contained a total gold value of $34.50 oz/t Au. A gold brick valued at $1404.44 Au was the result of this mill test.
The intermediate to felsic metavolcanics consist of tuffs, feldspar crystal tuffs and agglomerates. There are two veins at the mine, the Grace (trending N30W) and and east-west vein (Nyman vein?). The veins occur along a definite shear zone and consist of a succession lenticular quartz bodies, most of which are less than 100 ft long. They vary in width from a few inches to more than 5 feet. It is reported that the ore in the Grace vein extends only as far north as the agglomerate. In the deeper portions of the mine it appears that the veins lie within the diorite of the Jubilee Stock.
