Mn ore deposit hosted in Jurassic-Cretaceous sedimentary beds.
The ore bodies are irregular, flat or cylindrical masses, occurring in diabase, schalstein (diabasic clastic rock) and chert of the Sorachi group.

Both the country rock and the ore contain microfossils. The ore also shows colloform texture.
