Deposit: General location: about 27 km N of carlin general size of ore body: large
Geology: Barite mineralization is confined to a 40m thick siltstone unit within the vinini formation. The vinini is made up mostly of chert and shale. The vinini formation is overlain by tertiary sandstone, latite, and tuffaceous sandstone and intruded by quartz porphyry.
