Name:
After Russian mineralogist Igor Viktorovich Pekov (born 1967), a well-known expert on the mineralogy of alkaline rocks.
The strontium analogue of Danburite and Maleevite.

The structure has paracelsian topology; as such, the species may alternatively be grouped within "paracelsian group", alongside with danburite, maleevite, maleevite, paracelsian, hurlbutite, and strontiohurlbutite.
