Metamanganolites (gondites/coticules), once treated as iron formations, within gneisses - one of the occurrences close to the Sobotin gabbro-amphibolite massif.
The gneisses bear magnetite ores mined between the XVII and XIX centuries, and then in the XX century.
The gneiss sedimentary protolith is suggested to be synchronic with black smokers emanations that delivered manganese to it.
The local magnetite ore is by some treated as of a BIF type.
