Island in the Strait of Hormuz, 8 kilometres off the Iranian coast.

Evaporitic rocks including a nearly circular-shaped salt plug (with solution caverns) exposed at the surface with a maximum length of 7 km along its east-west axis.
Hematite ore is mined in the southernmost part of the island.
