A limestone quarry in Precambrian Franklin marble. One of the Bodnar group of quarries.

One of several small quarries in the Franklin marble known collectively as the Bodner Group. This is not the same as the Eastern Concrete Materials quarry (aka: Hamburg Quarry) just off Rt. 23 just north of the center of Hamburg.

The minerals present at this particular quarry don't seem to have been documented but it can be assumed that the basic nearly ubiquitous normal Franklin marble assemblage is almost certainly present.

The map coordinates given for this locality are incorrect being for a site some distance east of the actual locality in an area underlain by the Losee gneiss. This author is unsure which of the several small openings of the "Bodner Group" is the actual "Hamburg quarry" and therefore cannot make the correction.
