Gudmunds gruve (Citrinbruddet), Landsverk, Evje og Hornnes, Agder, Norge

Around 1955 blasted Gudmund Olsen (father of Reidar Kjets) a small quantity of feldspar. At the same time he blasted out a huge quantity of quartz crystals.
The quarry is also called Citrinbruddet (Citrin Quarry), but that name is misleading.

Most if not all of the quartz crystals I have seen from this place are covered by a thin film of iron oxides, giving them a yellow-brown-red colour (Ronald Werner commentary 2019).

According to Reidar Kjetså was in 1974 the entire track to this small quarry full with quartz crystals.

In the 1990's Ivar Gautestad blasted a few times here, in order to take out more quartz crystals.

In the period 2004-7 some foreign collectors managed to open a new cavity, finding quite a lot of crystals.

This quarry definitely has a potential in case there had been blasted a few times.

The quarry is situated 350 m SSW of the shop near the Landsverk 1 quarry.
