Structure: Fracture
Tectonics: Cascade Volcanic Arc
Deposit: Bedrock concealed by pumice and pumicite in 1977; probably also thin layer of ash from 1980 eruption. Fracture zone 15-24 in. Thick consists chiefly of calcite and minor quartz with an outer fringe of iron oxide and gouge. Vein appears mostly barren but contains sparse mineralization location map, map of claims available, moen (1977) ; info.src : 1 pub lit
Deposit type: Polymetallic veins
Geology: Deposit is about 1 mi from spirit lake pluton. Other small intrusions, probably related to flows in area, are nearby

Regional Geology
This geological map and associated information on rock units at or nearby to the coordinates given for this locality is based on relatively small scale geological maps provided by various national Geological Surveys. This does not necessarily represent the complete geology at this locality but it gives a background for the region in which it is found.

Neogene 2.588 - 23.03 Ma ID: 3186305 | Cenozoic volcanic rocks Age: Neogene (2.588 - 23.03 Ma) Stratigraphic Name: Columbia River Basalt Comments: Columbia Plateau Lithology: Flood basalt(s); mafic volcanic rocks; basalt Reference: Chorlton, L.B. Oligocene - Eocene 23.03 - 56 Ma ID: 2824899 | Eocene-Oligocene volcanic rocks Age: Paleogene (23.03 - 56 Ma) Stratigraphic Name: Sanpoil Volcanics Description: Predominantly light-green, bedded andesite breccia with interbedded andesite and basalt flows, mudflows, and tuff beds; becomes more tuffaceous near top of unit. Includes tuffaceous and arkosic sandstone, shale, and carbonaceous shale beds in central and southern Cascade Mountians. Rhyodacite and quartz latite flows in northwestern Ferry County. Comments: Percentage of dacite thought to be andesite in the field; predominate over basaltic and rhyolitic rock (Warren, 1941). Large flows in Ferry County mostly dacite and andesite (Stoffel and others, 1991).
