Old workings to the north of Lago del Reduc, on the east slope of Testa del Reduc-Serra del Chiapous, exploiting a galena-bearing quartz vein, having a N-S strike and dipping ca. 50°W, embedded in gneiss.

A ca. 10-m-long trench followed the vein; in its deepest part, the excavation narrows to form of a winze, presently inaccessible because flooded. The features of these workings match with the decription given by Barelli (1835) and Jervis (1873) for the Bergemoletto mine, from where cerussite crystals were firstly reported for Piedmont (Sismonda, 1832). Modern mining activity began here in 1816 on ancient excavations performed before the 17th century introduction of black powder.

The presence of albite, epidote, and small crystals of smoky quartz in gneiss of the surrounding area is reported by Piccoli (2002).
