Alteration: Fe-Staining, Bleaching, Kaolinization Of Rhyolite; Silification
Deposit: Northern shaft begins in altered rhyolite. Most of dump consists of white altered rhyolite which shows oxidized clots and ghosts after pyrite and pink, red and orange iron oxide bands or oxidation rings. A small amount of grey limestone with calcite veining was also found on thedump. Drill cuttings are also composed of grey limestone. Southern workings are a combination of 2 inclined shafts and a connecting stope. These workings provide better exposure of the mineralized vein structure. A quartz-cemented breccia vein cuts grey laminated limestones, medium-bedded (1-2ft) containing girvanella algal pods and striking n10e, dip 35 se. The exposed vein is about 3 ft wide at main working but appears to narro W to the north to 1-2 ft wide. The vein is composed mainly of quartz and quartz-cemented limestone breccia. Limestone fragments contained in the vein are silicified, Fe-stained and recemented by white vitreous and grey comb and drusy epithermal quartz. Euhedral quartz-filled mgs occur between fragments. Vein was probably emplaced along a fault which downdrops Fe-stained bleached volcanics against cambrian limestone, As volcanics are exposed on west side of vein in one portion of t
Development: No activity at time of examination in 1983, but probably drilled within past 3-5 years.
