The Branega is a stream in Liguria, a tributary of the Ligurian Sea.

The Branega stream itself originates from the confluence of the Rio Bianco with the Rio Laira and has a length of approximately 5 km, which when added to that of the Rio Laira comes to approximately 6 km in total length.

Running from north to south it descends towards Pra' flanked by via Branega, sometimes on the right bank and sometimes on the left bank. It is then crossed by a double viaduct from the Autostrada dei Fiori and delimits the Palmaro cemetery towards the east. It finally flows into the Ligurian Sea inside the Port of Genoa, after having also been crossed by the two bridges of the Genoa-Ventimiglia railway and the Via Aurelia.

The Branega basin falls entirely within the municipality of Genoa and borders to the east with the Rio San Pietro basin, to the north-east with the mountainous part of the Varenna basin, to the north-west with the upper Cerusa basin, to the west with that of the small Rio Madonnette and to the south with the sea.
