A former Cu-Au-Ag-Zn mine located in the SΒ½NEΒΌ sec. 11, T2N, R25E, MDM, on private (patented) land. Owned by J. S. Cain Co., California (1966). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in limestone and porphyry. The ore body is 7.32 meters thick. The host rocks are highly decomposed in places. Decomposed ore wasreplaced by quartz with pyrite. Alteration is local (oxidation). Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 2 tunnels at 1,200 feet and 500 feet in length, a 56 foot deep winze, 4 crosscut drifts and a 65 foot deep shaft.
Production information: No production records found.
Assay data: Veins averaged 8% metallic Cu.
