A mercury mine located 3 miles West of the Antoine River, on the North side of Ashbrook Road. The workings comprise pits, trenches and a shaft in mineralized Jackfork Sandstone. Started 1938, closed 1943.
Structure: Homoclinal Fold. Nw Trending Strike Slip Faults. Thrust Faults, N-S Tear Faults, And Two Fold Systems ; Reg.Trends: Thrust Faults From S In Late Paleozoic

Alteration: Argillic Alteration

Deposit: Hg is disseminated.

Development: Rotary kiln with 30 ton per day capacity.

Geology: Geol.desc: carboniferous formations dip S and are deformed by thrust faults, tear faults, bedding plane faults and folds

Rock formation(s): Jackfork Sandstone, Sandstone;Stanley Shale


Ore(s): Ore Located Along Faults In Breccia And Joints. Fault Intersections, Sharp Folds, And Intersection Of Sandstone Beds With Main Fault Zone Are Also Favorable For Mineralization.
