Name:
Named according to the IMA nomenclature scheme for the epidote group, for its relationship to other 'androsite' species, the first one being manganiandrosite-(La). The root name is for Andros Island, Greece, where manganiandrosite-(La) was discovered. The prefix indicates a predominance of V3+ at the M1 site. The suffix/modifier indicates the dominant cation at the A2 site, which for the allanite subgroup is always a REE.
A member of the Allanite Subgroupof the Epidote Group. Unique combination of elements (at the upload time).
The Fe3+ analogue of androsite-(Ce), ferriandrosite-(Ce), and manganiandrosite-(Ce).
The Fe3+ analogue of androsite-(Ce), ferriandrosite-(Ce), and manganiandrosite-(Ce).
