Named after the discovery locality.
Cyanotrichite Group.
Visually similar to cyanotrichite and carbonatecyantrichite.
A small amount of sulphate may be present (or even necessary) in khaidarkanite; the Na content may be variable (Hager et al., 2009). Hager et al. (2009) attributed the Na content to impurities. The current (2022) IMA formula has no Na.

General Appearance of Type Material:
Flat, acicular crystals up to 0.03 × 0.05 × 7 mm, as radial aggregates up to 1 mm across, and as fibrous aggregates.
Place of Conservation of Type Material:
Fersman Mineralogical Museum, Moscow, and in the S.V. Tsaregorodtsev collection at the Ilmenskii Reservation, South Urals, Russia.
