Ref.: Rocks & Min.: 11: 26, 43 & 121; 14:299. A gold mine located above Great Falls (of the Potomac River) on Bull Neck Run (stream), about 10 miles South of Washington, D.C. Owned by William Kirk.
A gold mine located on Bull Neck Run (stream). Started November, 1937 by Virginia Mines, Inc. Produced 10 to 15 tons ore/day. Workings were at least 100 feet (32 meters) deep.
