The Poppelsberg mine.

This mine was part of the “Vieille Montagne Moresnet concession” with headquarters in the management building in Kelmis/La Calamine, the current MVM Museum Vieille Montagne.

This mine worked the same veins as Rabotrath and Lontzen. Mined between 1848 and 1867.

Total production:
17,900 tons of calamine and schalenblende.

Note: Hatert et al. (2002) list the locality as "Pappelsberg (sic), Herbesthal, Lontzen, Liège".
