The new mineral species fluorcarmoite-(BaNa) [IMA 2015-062] has been found in an erratic boulder just in the place where Maremola creek is formed by the confluence of Rio Rianazzo and Rio Lavezzino, in proximity of Isallo. This boulder originates from an unprecised quartzite-hosted phosphate mineralisation in the area around Monte Carmo di Loano, where a phosphate-bearing metaquartzite horizon occurs.

The new mineral appears as a lemon-yellow anhedral nodule, surrounded by an alteration halo of iron hydroxides, embedded in a quartz matrix without traces of common phosphates. The only associated mineral seems to be graftonite, as green-blackish micro fibres and radiating aggregates in quartz cracks.
