Active low-temperature hydrothermal vents were developed in this area. The third magmatic lineation in the basin the third is the main rift axis, which includes Deception Island, Jiawang Seamount and Bridgeman Islands; the last one is defined by a ridge with the highest heat flow in King George Basin.
