Currently the Natural Bridge State Park, a marble quarry operated on this site from 1810 to 1947. The park is named after the 550 million year old bedrock marble carved into an arch by the force of glacial melt water over 13,000 years ago. The area also features glacial potholes and a circa-1838 white marble dam built to power the quarry works.
