In terms of population, Nunkirchen is the largest district ("Stadtteil") of the city of Wadern in the Merzig-Wadern district in Saarland.

Nunkirchen is the locality of the only mining for jasper in Germany. It ceased operation in 1970. The dumps are still visible but located on private property.
