A quartz vein-type tungsten deposit, located southeast of Ganzhou.
Notes:
(1) Gannan, for which Gananite was named, is a historic administrative division of Jiangxi Province. The area is roughly equivalent to present-day Ganzhou Prefecture.
(2) The paper by Cheng et al. gives the name of the type locality as θ΅ει¨ηΏεΊ (Lai-keng-wu-kuang-qu), where ι¨ (wu) means "tungsten", ηΏ (kuang) means "mine" or "deposit" (in a different context, it can also mean "ore" or "mineral") and εΊ (qu) means "district" or "area". Thus, this translates as "Laikeng tungsten deposit area", "Laikeng tungsten mine area" or "Laikeng tungsten mining district". The geological map of the area presented on page 120 of the paper indicates a single deposit, but not a full mining district, so "Laikeng tungsten mine" or "Laikeng tungsten deposit" are most appropriate.
