9XQ-6DUWillemite Zn2SiO4 , Calcite CaCO3 , Wulfenite Pb(MoO4)

09225440017117307461935.jpg
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia

Dimensions: 239 mm

Huge specimen of blue willemite with white calcite and 1 orange wulfenite.
I obtained this specimen in the very early 1980's at a show and the locality given was Kipushi mine. Just started collecting and not experienced at all, it was only years later that I noticed the wulfenite and the calcite rhombs on the willemite. No doubt that this is a Tsumeb specimen because Kipushi willemite is almost microscopic and colorless. Please click on annotations to find the wulfenite.
