Carbonaceous Chondrite [CO3.8]
Find, 1970. A 23 kg individual was found about 100 km SW of Isna, on the Nile River near Luxor.

Isna is the 5th largest of the CO [Ornans-like] meteorites. All Carbonaceous Chondrites are defined by their bulk Mg-Si and oxygen isotope ratios. Within this framework, the CO chemical group is distinguished by small chondrules and refractory inclusions. All 400+ recognized CO stones are classified as CO3 because they contain glass. However, Isna is one of only 3 CO’s of petrologic type CV3.8.
