Small quarry ca. 65 m SE of the main quarry.

UPDATE 2023

Quarry owner Tor reidar Vassland intends to extract sodium-feldspar from this quarry, a feldspar type that raises prices of up to $2500,-/tonn, high enough to make production of quantities of 10-20 tonnes profitable.

The sodium-content of this feldspar is said to be especially high, making it attractive as additive to lower-grade Na-feldspars that only cost a fraction of the high-Na qualities.

Apart from minor graphic granite and fine-corned masses of garnet, no interesting mineralisations were observed.

UPDATE 2024
Quarry owner Tor Reidar Vasland blasted away the entrance to the steeply inclined synk sometime late in 2023, with the intention to enlarge the opening and make future feldspar extraction easier.
The blast revealed a beautiful section of the pegmatite, making it possible to study the structure of the pegmatite.
The zoning is especially well visible, and in the quartz core some large crystals of albite can be seen.
I (Ron Werner) was able to collect a tiny piece of monazite from a section with biotite, in an area where the quartz showed smoky discolorisation, while becoming increasingly more whitish to the right.
