Commodity: pyrrhotite sometimes contains commercial quantities of nickel (Bull. 50, p. 119). Report of an AEC airborne RA anomaly in the vicinity (from deleted record MAS 0560010074 (10229431).

Deposit: 5 FT VEIN OF PYRRHOTITE BENEATH OXIDIZED ZONE. ANOTHER SHAFT FOUND PYRRHOTITE MIXED WITH COARSE-GRAINED MARCASITE AND A LITTLE DISSEMINATED CHALCOPYRITE. AT 50 FT PYRRHOTITE BECAME QUARTZOSE. PYRRHOTITE PASSED OUT OF THE SHAFT AT 60 FT. QTZ VEIN BEARING PYRRHOTITE CUTS RED GRANITE, MICA & SCHIST (from deleted record 10182091) A graphite-pyrrhotite schist was encountered at 107 ft. depth. (Bull. 50, p. 94). A 107 ft. shaft was sunk on the north side of Horseshoe Creek, in the east-central part of sec. 21, T28N, R71W. "Rusty schist" at the surface gave way to a heavy, shallow body of pyrrhotite. A northeast trending graphite-pyrrhotite schist 1 ft. to 2 ft. thick underlies the pyrrhotite mass with a little chalcopyrite. Hornblende and quartz were mixed with pyrrhotite. Traces of sphalerite also reported. (Bull. 50, p. 39).
