The Quanzhou ore field forms part of a U-W-Mo-Sn ore belt, which extends for more than 100 km between Luzhai County of Liuzhou Prefecture, and Guanyang and Quanzhou Counties of Guilin Prefecture. It trends along the east side of a composite batholith, which is composed mainly of Caledonian medium-grained porphyritic biotite granite, with some Hercynian and Indosinian intrusives and Yanshanian stocks. Within this belt, more than 50 deposits were discovered that cover a wide range of genetic types, including magmatic, pegmatite and skarn mineralizations, tin-bearing placers, and hydrothermal deposits formed at high to low temperatures.
