This entry refers to the cliff section north of the Crowns Rock and south of Wheal Cock Zawn. The cliffs are unnamed on the topographic map, but most of them form part of Botallack Head, which is located in the center of the area and adjoins Wheal Cock Zawn to the south. Russell (1910) refers to the locality as Wheal Cock Carn and states that this name (which does not appear on maps) was used in the past for an elevated portion of the cliff south of Wheal Cock. Other authors variously refer to the area vaguely as "rocks between Botallack and Wheal Cock" or as "cliffs north of Botallack". The grid reference is centered on Botallack Head.

The veins in this area are hosted in greenstones, a narrow belt of which runs through the granite mass and crops out in the cliffs around Botallack Head. Prehnite and natrolite reported from the Botallack area do only occur at this place. In addition, the veins produced many fine axinite specimens, and many specimens sold that were labelled as coming from Roscommon Cliff were really found in this area.
