The White Lady Mica Mine is located approximately 5 kilometres south-west of Pannikin Dam. It was a historic mica mine, probably worked in the 1940's and 50's, however no historic information was found. Modern exploration in the vicinity has largely explored for copper, rare earth minerals, and garnets. No tracks remain to the site.
The area contains several very large pegmatites, much malachite, and minor chrysocolla staining from numerous but sub-economic copper deposits, and very narrow discontinuous chalcopyrite veinlets. Host rock includes quartz-biotite-sillimanite gneiss, biotite gneiss, and granite gneiss. Clarence River Finance Group explored for garnets in the district in the early 1990's, determining mining it out of the hard rock would be un-economic, and with the exception of the Florence Creek to the south, alluvial garnets in stream-beds was patchy.
The White Lady pegmatite may also contain a small area of malachite, proximal to the cross-cutting quartz-feldspar-muscovite pegmatite. The remains of the old camp at the mine, was found by a later exploration company on the crest of the nearby hill. Very good beryl specimens were said to have been found in the pegmatite during its mining days.
