A major New jersey iron mine located in magnetite ore just North of Dover. Started 1786 and closed 1896. Ore deposit was 4 veins, including: Northwestern; Dolan (Huff); Main or Teabo (avg. 6 ft. wide). Produced 336,000 tons of ore until June, 1880. Workings included open cuts (1,200 feet long, 800 feet long and 140 to 225 feet deep (1868)). 3 shafts on main vein. Workings were 2,800 feet SW-NE (1883) and later 3,500 feet and 1,400 feet deep (1896).
