The Schöpfer vein was of the most important producers of silver ores in the whole Banská Štiavnica-Hodruša-Hámre mining area and was mined since the 16th century. Mining activities finally ceased in 1950. This hydrothermal quartz-carbonate vein with Ag-Au mineralization is more than 3 km long and up to 10 m thick and is mostly developed in granodiorites. It was prolific source of fine stephanite and polybasite specimens.
NOTE: The old adit is dangerous due to fluctuating CO2 levels.
