Undeveloped nickel prospect located 64 km east north east of Kalgoorlie. Acra is a komatiite sulphide channel striking for 200 metres, being mainly disseminated nickel sulphides, and some veins/stringers of massive sulphides.
It was discovered during the 1967-1975 nickel boom, and there was renewed exploration interest from the 1980's.
Explored by Jones Mining NL 1968-1972, and Spargos 1971-1973.
Contains serpentinized olivine peridotite to polygonal textured metadunite, partly converted to magnesite at the margins, grading to the south-east into metapyroxenite, totalling 1370 metres long by up to 690 metres wide. Within this is irregular massive 1000 metres wide, less than 200 metres thick of magnetite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, millerite, siegenite, as disseminations and veinlets.
