Croton Magnetic Iron-ore Mines


An iron ore in magnetite ore located about 2Β½ miles SW of Brewster. It connects underground with the Theall Mine (https://www.mindat.org/loc-13557.html), and collectively, with it, was subsequently referred to as the Croton Magnetic Iron-ore Mines. Started about 1880. Workings were a large open cut and a 60-foot deep shaft.
