Rodingite outcrops in serpentinite on the NW slope of Monte Pian Real.
Note: in mineral collections, minerals from Monte Pian Real are frequenty labelled as from Cassafrera, i.e., the ca. 2km-long and 1.4-1.8km-wide morainic deposit, located at the base of the arquate Punta Costabruna-Monte Pian Real-Punta del Lago-Monte Rocciavrè-Punta Cristalliera-Punta Malanotte-Punta Pian Paris ridge forming the head of Vallone del Gravio.
