Åsland is the name of a farm about 2,3 km E of the center of Evje.
Andersen (1931) only described one quarry, simply called "Åsland".
However, around the farmhouses there are several other quarries that need to be registered.
The coordinates are for the farmhouse.
Apart from the seven here registered quarries, there seems to have been activity at many other places, though sizewise they do not seem to be very relevant.
The registration of these seven quarries as belonging to the Åneland farm is somewhat arbitrary, but was done out of practical considerations.
The actual job that someone might want to do, is to use a property map (in Norwegian: gårds- og bruksnummer), and see on which property they are located. No doubt that would result in moving quarries from one farm to another. Problem is however, modern boundaries might differ from the original ones. Another problem is, there are just way too many different properties to start checking to whom they belong.
